Brent Singers had a very successful trip to Liverpool in March to join the Met Singers in their performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Liverpool Hope University. We joined them for both social and singing opportunities starting with a meal out on Friday in one of Liverpool's dockside eateries.
On Saturday, we were warmly welcomed by the choir and joined their rehearsal alongside the Liverpool Met Orchestra, after which we were generously treated to a bring and share meal.
The concert went down very well with some members the audience even giving a standing ovation! The orchestra was at least thirty strong and played with enthusiasm and skill. The Met Choir was joined by both Brent Singers and a local choir Level 10 and sang with aplomb, treating the audience to the full majesty of the piece. Our soloists, including two second year music students, really were first class.

Finally, after the concert more hospitality and socialising at one of the member's apartments from which we could see the magnificent Catholic cathedral, a tour around which was another weekend highlight.
We hope to capitalise on both the existing and newly formed friendships and hope to invite their members down to Devon to enjoy singing in our own beautiful abbey.
